Graduate nurses and midwives

Information for newly graduated registered and enrolled nurses and and registered midwives about to embark on their graduate year.

Each year in Victoria more than 2000 registered and enrolled nurses and registered midwives successfully complete their nursing and midwifery studies, register and start a graduate program.

ANMF recognises that providing support for nurses and midwives in their graduate year is important both for the individual graduate and the health sector's ability to recruit and retain nurses and midwives. Studies have shown that a graduate first six months are crucial because this is when they either decide to develop a commitment to a nursing or midwifery career or change professions.

If you would like ANMF to visit your workplace or if there is anything more you feel the ANMF could do to support you as a graduate nurse, call ANMF Graduate & Final Year Officer Abbey Kink on 03 9275 9333.

If you are a graduate nurse or midwife please notify the ANMF membership department on 03 9275 9313 or update your details online so you will receive information relevant to your graduate nurse year.
